About the Doctors

Here we are with our daughter, Georgia!

Dr. Emily Mahar Cannon was born and raised in Central Vermont before leaving for 12 years of education and work experience.  She is a graduate of Dartmouth College where she studied pre-medical sciences and received a B.A. with high honors in biology and environmental science.  While studying at Dartmouth Emily met a Naturopathic physician who introduced her to the concepts and philosophies of Naturopathic medicine.  Intrigued by the combination of rigorous medical science, natural therapies and underlying holistic philosophies, she decided to attend The National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon where she earned her doctorate.  She practiced in Camden, Maine prior to returning to Vermont with her husband and their daughter.

A licensed Naturopathic physician attends a 4-year graduate naturopathic medical school and is educated in the same medical sciences as an M.D. but also studies holistic, alternative and complimentary medicine.  A licensed N.D. must pass rigorous professional board exams.

Dr. Nicholas Cannon attended the University of Vermont where he studied ecology and further developed his life long love of the outdoors and physical activity. During work as a conservation habitat manager he injured his back and was struck by the thorough and proactive treatment he received by a Chiropractic Physician.  He then attended Western States Chiropractic College, an elite evidence-based chiropractic program.
